The Government of Alberta is now accepting nominations for the 2010 Stars of Alberta Volunteer Awards.The Stars of Alberta Volunteer Awards recognize extraordinary Albertans whose volunteer efforts have contributed to the well-being of their community and fellow community members. Any Albertan whose volunteer efforts have played a significant role during their lifetime is eligible. Six awards are presented annually; two in each category of youth, adult and senior. The 2010 awards will be presented in a special ceremony in Edmonton on Friday, December 3 – just prior to International Volunteer Day: December 5. ADVR meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month - next meeting is September 8, 2010. Our new venue is: Salvation Army Glenmore Temple, 921 - 68 Ave. SW, Calgary.
